Meeting House

London Quakers Property Trust owns this large Victorian house, now used as a meeting house by Forest Hill Quaker Meeting. The ground floor serves as a place of worship on Sundays, and is let to local community groups during the week. The first floor accommodated a bedsit and a three-bedroom flat, access to which was provided by a stair within the meeting house. We rearranged the ground floor to provide more welcoming meeting spaces, a better kitchen, and improved WCs. We redesigned and rebuilt the first floor, to provide a spacious two-bedroom flat, and a generously planned one-bedroom flat. We converted the loft into a large, and beautifully lit two-bedroom flat. We provided separate access to the flats by removing the existing stair, and adding a second front entrance, opening into a new, relocated stair.
