NICHOLAS JAMIESON
After 10 years as a director of a large award-winning London practice, I missed working closely with clients and builders, and wanted to spend more time designing and writing. So in 2015 I started my own practice.
What I enjoy most about architecture is resolving a client?s aspirations and needs, developing a design with the help of other consultants and builders, and ending up with something that is better than we had all expected. It is hugely rewarding to see the dramatic improvements a building project can make to home or business life.
I know a lot about residential refurbishment, and new houses and flats. I also have specialist knowledge of primary care premises and procurement. Other recent responsibilities include converting a listed building into a library, and refurbishing an industrial building. I spent my early career managing technically complex projects such as an ambulance control station, a fire testing laboratory and a court refurbishment.
Apart from my family and friends, and things to do with my work, I love walking and camping in Wales and Scotland. The more remote the better.
